Connect monitors manually to dashboard

Hi @lorenwest and every one.
The actual solution to connect the dashboard to a server is to edit the source of the component using "view source".
I want to add servers in an other way. I want to define them in the code so they appear in the list of servers that appears when we open "component settings" in the dashboard.
my problem is that I didn't find in the code where to modify the list of servers or where to add one.
Any help please ?
