Frontpage Search Button does not always work

Describe the bug
It's possible to have a front page state in which the search field is filled out correctly, but the search button does not work, i.e. it 'flashes' but nothing happens.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to the front page at staging
2. Copy and paste '65183 Wiesbaden' in the search box. This is what auto suggestion would put in for you. Don't click on the drop down list!
3. The drop down list closes automatically
4. Click the search button and nothing happens.

Expected behavior
The search should work.
