Can confirm that I'm seeing the same behavior. Created an encrypted wallet.dat file back in 2013, opened it here and there a few times between then and 2017 without issues, tried to open it a few days ago with v0.21.4 and could not (fully downloaded blockchain from scratch, tried to open my wallet.dat file, Litecoin Core crashes with no errors). My log looks similar to OP's.
Downloaded v0.17.1, as it seemed to be the version that I would have been using the last time I transferred LTC. Re-downloaded the blockchain and was able to open my wallet without issues.
Didn't try any versions between v0.17.1 and v0.21.4, but I'm assuming that a bug was introduced somewhere in there.
Expected behavior
Open your old wallet from 2017 with the current version of Litecoin Core
Actual behavior
When opening an old wallet, Litecoin Core instantly closes without any message
To reproduce
I take the current version of Litecoin Core, download the entire blockchain from scratch, try to open my old wallet
System information
Litecoin Core 0.21.4 for Windows
On several different computers
Windows 10 Pro
