Deepin Movie 2 anomalies detected !

I have discovered key anomolies in the behaviour of Deepin Movie for its intended function.

The subtitle NAME is showing of the previous subtitle i had applied manually to a certain movie.
Note: the subtitle of the current movie(which came embedded) is showing the correct subtitles of the current movie(so its a Name Display problem only)

This movie i am watching has multi language audio sources bundled. but the same isn't accessible from Deepin Movie, only 1 audio source is showing. I played the exact same movie using VLC and everything is working as intended both with regard to the subtitle and the dual source audio language.

To work as intended, i'e ... by showing the correct subtitle file names and show multi audio sources embedded within the the movie file.

So, does it mean it's not reproduceable? i.e. there is no way to make this bug happen on another device? I guess it's not the case?

I only remember downloading a srt file and dragging and dropping over the movie i was playing which seem to work just as expected.

When i was watching a different movie which had subtitles included then i saw the previous movie subtitles loaded to a different movie and i hid the subtitles without actually checking if the subtitles were of the last movie or the current one, i ignored the bug considering how cumbersome it has become, reporting a bug and following it up with the current deepin team.(i really like the old team where you Hualet were all active member(hell you are still the first one to respond ... LOL)

And today when i was watching another one is when i realized that the subtitles were of the current movie but the display in the menu was of the previous movie.

then there was the fact about only one audio source showing when i suspiciously opened the same movie in VLC is when i realized there was a bug there as well.

So if the Deepin Team can figure out the reproducible steps from my encounter they can feel free to do so.

Until then VLC will be the way forward for media file with Multi Source audio ...

If there is a fix and pushed let me know so i can compile and report back if it was fixed or not.

MY 2 CENTS :
If there are proofs in the form of screenshots or screen capture it means the bug's are there for sure !!!
If the end user isn't thrust with 'Burden of Proof' (... a.k.a. ... provide reproducible steps) ... far more bugs could get reported, in turn improving your product. Very few people can actually engage with the team beyond reporting it ... I can understand it would be a little difficult for the developers(BUT CERTAINLY NOT IMPOSSIBLE TO, LOCATE THE BUG ... going by the bug description) WHEN they do not have an affected system ...

NOTE : the end user will certainly appreciate and help the team to run diagnostics on their machines so the developers can trouble shoot the affected systems FOR THE LACK OF THE DEVS NOT BEING ABLE TO reproduce theM at their end.

I'm sorry but I don't even sure if I can understand your report correctly without a reproduce steps. What does anomalies detected even mean? I have regular mkv video with embedded subtitle can be detected without issue, I don't even know if it's your case or not. Does it means your video already having embedded subtitle track but deepin-movie only detected external subtitle files? There are so many questions related to your current setup which can cause your situation. It is suggested to provide a detailed reproduce steps to let another person to know what exactly is going on.

And, please try avoid using all caps and off-topic in an issue report.

Yes my videos are mkv too, I don't know how subtitles & multiple audio tracks are packaged into an mkv, but a separate srt file is accompanied along with the mkv video.

Does it means your video already having embedded subtitle track but deepin-movie only detected external subtitle files?
Well ... let me try once again. The subtitle track embedded/accompanied with the mkv is playing out relevant to the video but in the right click menu under Subtitles it is showing an old subtitle i had dragged on a different video. So to summarize the contents of the embedded subtitle are correct wrt to the video Only-the-Name of the Subtitle files is Displayed in the subtitle menu as residue from the old video when in fact the name of the current subtitle file name should have displayed there.

It is suggested to provide a detailed reproduce steps to let another person to know what exactly is going on.

If this is going to be the way it is, then I guess we'll reach nowhere for a end user like me, I am just unable to help you reproduce the steps.

A user is just a user nothing more, When he encounters an anomaly(something that is expected, but not that thing isn't so) he can either ignore like 99% users do, or report it to its developers(bring it to their attention with proofs of the same, like i have attached to this report)

BASIC CONCEPT OF REPRODUCING SOMETHING :
To be able to reproduce anything, the fundamental requirement is that, that thing you are intending to reproduce should be having a certain cycle, and in that cycle one of the events(user or unknown background event) should trigger the manifestation of the issue. If so then a user could always end the cycle and initiate a fresh cycle and try to attempt events and see if the issue manifests, If yes then HE can state those exact steps as reproducible steps !

(Eg. : a cycle of closing and opening the app is a cycle) ... So when i close Deepin Movie and reopen it and If it functions normally without any issue then I can keep a watch over every event with the intention to catch the bug, and keep attempting routine events to see the issue manifests.

But in this case(bug) no such thing is possible because the issue isn't consistent by itself, at the most what is possible is, is to capture the state of the anomaly which i have done and i am doing it again below ...

in the above screenshot comparison between the subtitle menu of Deepin Movie and VLC, its clear that VLC is showing the subtitle name below "Disable" ... whereas Deepin Movie is showing 'None' !!!

So i have no way to reproduce it !

Now its up to the Deepin Team to decide what they want to do with the evidence(screenshots)

@BLumia ... Ok GAry it was great while it lasted ... ADIOS ... NO MORE BUG REPORTING ... CERTAINLY NOT UNTIL THE DEEPIN IS PERCHED UP THE TREE OF *THERE ARE NO BUGS IF WE ARE NOT ABLE TO REPRODUCE IT !!!

I AS A USER I HAVE THE OPTION TO MOVE TO OTHER AVAILABLE OPTIONS WHICH CARRY NO ANOMALY !!!

I am just unable to help you reproduce the steps.

Then I will not be able to help you out since I'm not even able to understand what exactly went wrong.

But in this case(bug) no such thing is possible because the issue isn't consistent by itself, at the most what is possible is, is to capture the state of the anomaly which i have done and i am doing it again below ...

The reproduce steps simply should be a step-by-step description that describes what you did to make the bug appear. I don't even have a clue about what do you mean by saying it's anomaly. Does it mean it happens on every video files that you have? Or only specific ones? What happened exactly? How can someone else try to see the same thing as you?

But not able to reproduce a bug means we have no clue how to address it at the first place, and that's why we are asking for a reproduce steps description provided since it really could help triage bugs! Please keep that in mind.
