I'm on Ubuntu 20.04 with Bitcoin Core running and 100% synched (having datadir on external hard disk).
I have run lncli create to create a new wallet. Then I run lnd but I get the following error:

Looks like you need to specify the ZMQ listeners in the bitcoind.conf file as well. See https://github.com/lightningnetwork/lnd/blob/master/docs/INSTALL.md#using-bitcoind-or-litecoind

I had the following lines to bitcoin.conf file:

zmqpubrawblock=tcp://127.0.0.1:28332
zmqpubrawtx=tcp://127.0.0.1:28333

And I restarted bitcoind, but it didn't solve the problem: same error :(

Since I'm using LND on the same machine of Bitcoin Core shouldn't lnd connect to bitcoind without the need of specifying rpcuser, rpcpass and ZMQ listeners as well?

You always need to specify the authentication, no matter if it's on the same machine or not. But the authentication can either be the cookie file or RPC user/password. So either you remove the bitcoind.rpcuser and bitcoind.rpcpass from your lnd config and specify bitcoind.rpccookie or you set the correct rpc user and password in your bitcoind config.

Settings rpcuser and rpcpassword in bitcoin.conf file doesn't work. Instead, adding bitcoind.rpccookie=<external-storage>/.cookie in lnd.conf file makes me to overcome that error.

But I get a new error:

So I installed some required dependencies (apt install libzmq3-dev) and run bitcoin-cli getzmqnotifications that seems to works with no issues. Here is its output:

Check your ports, they need to be different for pubrawblock and pubrawtx.

Uhm... it is weird... I double checked them again and they are different both in lnd.conf and bitcoin.conf (as you can see in my previous messages here).

No, 0.0.0.0 is just an alias for "pick any IP address that's available". Not sure what's going on, did you check the startup log of bitcoind? Are you using containers of any sort (e.g. docker)? Or is there a firewall?

bitcoind seems to be ok. It run under tor and electrs (Electrum server) connects to it with no problems.
Both are reachable.

About lnd, maybe anything related to tor configuration?

No, that connection doesn't use Tor. And electrs doesn't use ZMQ. So not sure what's going on. You can also try the new experimental polling mode (bitcoind.rpcpolling=true) on the lnd side, maybe that works. Be sure to comment out the zmq related things if you enable polling.

Yes, the issue was there! I made some mistakes about editing the right bitcoin.conf file since I have to mind that I'm pointing to external storage.
It works now!
