Information

  • ratbagd version (ratbagd --version):0.16
  • Piper version: 0.6
  • Distribution: Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS
  • Device: Logitech g203 Wired
  • Kernel version (ex. uname -srmo): Linux 6.8.0-45-generic x86_64 GNU/Linux

Describe the bug
I’m unable to edit the buttons on my Logitech G203 mouse in Piper. The UI shows the buttons, but changes aren't saved or applied after editing.

$ ratbagd --verbose=raw
Initializing libratbag
ratbagd error: Bus name is taken, another instance of ratbagd is already running.

Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS
Logitech G502 Hero
Piper 0.7
Ratbagd 0.17

I noticed, that after installation - the buttons configuration doesn't work - from start, default profile is set to Profile1.
After switching to "Profile 0" - on this profile, seems to work fine.
Additionally, I also noticed that after starting the app with profile set to profile1 - when I changed the LED configuration to static RED, firstly it was showing right static colors and after second it begins showing random colors.

Same:
Ubuntu 24.04
Logitech G502 SE Hero
Piper 0.7
Ratbagd 0.17
Linux 6.8.0-51-generic x86_64 GNU/Linux

To solve the problem I had to add a new profile (Profile 1) and use that instead of Profile 0.
