Hi. I've been tinkering with this project whole day yesterday (I'm not a programmer) - making it authenticate to MQTT server and experimenting with tmr function to get it working on recent versions of NodeMCU.
Unfortunately, while i finally managed to get it working (connects to wifi and MQTT server, posts ping), it does not detect the Ansulta remote.
Im using this CC2500 with breakout board https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/i5kAAOSwrhBZCx4d/s-l500.jpg
and connected it to D1 mini as in readme file. CC2500 is powered from 3.3V and G pins on D1 mini and D1 mini is powered from USB. CC2500 indeed receives 3.3V voltage from D1 mini, Havent used logic converter, as you haven't mentioned it and also i found some info on the forums confirming that CC2500 can talk with D1 mini directly (since the voltage on CC2500 outputs apparently is high enough to be received by D1 mini).
