Can you set a breakpoint in a code from kitty/child-monitor.c?

It seems that it's not possible to set a breakpoiint in a code from kitty/child-monitor.c.
gdb says:

No source file named child-monitor.c.
Make breakpoint pending on future shared library load? (y or [n]) 

I must have done something wrong, right? I made the binary with debugging symbols via typing make debug

No clue, I dont use debuggers, I am an old fashioned printf() debugging kind of guy.

I gave up using gdb and just used fprintf for debugging and it was actually very effective :D
