I have a use case where I have to ping a lot of servers that may or may not be a MC server. Some of these servers constantly respond with junk.
Your current implementation blocks on the network call, but you have timeouts handled per packet.
Instead of awaiting on the network call, you should use a tokio timer to preempt the network call if it takes longer than the timeout.
