Feb. 4 - Feb. 11

This week we met with the clients a few times and I did a lot of work on the layout of this webpage you're looking at, and wrote a bit of the Introduction. It took some time to reteach myself CSS/HTML stuff but hopefully this model is scalable and teammates seem okay with it. With my teammates we discussed the direction we wanted to go with the project, deciding tentatively on Python and some RSS/Site-scraping strategies.

Feb. 11 - Feb. 18

This week we added a schedule page and the hour and tool requirements to the requirements page. We talked more about the direction we wanted to go and aquired an API key. I got one of the previous groups' projects running on my computer so we could look at it and see how theirs came together.

Feb. 19 - Feb. 25

This week not a lot happened, and I actually forgot to do this update until a week later. Not every week is going to have work done, and I think that's okay. We're still accomplishing tasks at a good pace and I feel comfortable with where the project is overall.

Feb. 26 - Mar. 4

This week we worked on our presentation, meeting with Presentation U!, which was really helpful. We present tomorrow and I think we have plenty to talk about in our presentaiton. Our clients will hopefully be there as well. The project overall is progressing alright; Some work needs to be done on the design due tuesday but I feel we are in a good spot overall.

Mar. 5 - Mar. 11

This update is being added retroactively - I don't think I did anything during this week, and I forgot to do the weekly update - spring break was approaching, after all.

Mar. 12 - Mar. 18

Spring Break - no work done

Mar. 19 - Mar. 25

Got the project proper underway, got authentication for our amazon Ec2 instance we are developing on set up, and worked to make sure the frontend PHP and backend SQL could communicate. In addition, I set up a function to parse URLs returned by John's scraper functions and process them into the database properly. Tested this on a sample CNN article and it all seems to be working. We meet with our customers tomorrow, and we haven't met with them since Gunnar disappeared, so there's a lot to talk about.

Mar. 26 - Apr. 1

Met up again as a group to discuss the direction of the project. I was sick and didn't work much this weekend, but I now have a good grasp on what needs to be done that I didn't have before.

Apr. 2 - Apr. 8

Didn't get as much work done as I'd have liked, but we have a running prototype up sort of. I was still coming down from being sick, and had to cancel one of our group meetups because of it. I got some work done on it from home, but I ended up going in circles and didn't push anything in the end.
