I've always wanted to make this feature request because I've ran into this often with redirection.

When I delete a post, it moves it to the trash but if I don't remember to copy the URL, I have to restore the post to get it, so then I can go make a 301 redirect or mark it 410 in redirection after I permanently delete it.

A simple UI to manage posts once they were deleted permanently would be really handy.

Other plugins will show a notice in the admin when you trash a post and ask what you would like to do.. 301 or 410

You can enable monitoring of deleted posts and it will create the redirect for you.

That redirect is always to the homepage. So the user has to go manage their redirects to change where it goes or 410s.

A lot of folks I work with are bloggers and creators and without a visual prompt for a reminder, they often forget this step.
