Cannot remove Windows Boot Mgr after newest update. #106
Comments
This used to work in SteamOS, or the recovery image. For now, it does not (likely bug). I was able to disable the Windows entry from within a Kubuntu live iso. |
I'm super new. Seems like I need to setup kubuntu to do that? Through another computer that's running thst..do I have that correct? |
Just run the live image of Kubuntu. No need to setup or install it. Just boot into it and get a terminal running to make your changes. |
Sounds like you should quit trying to boot Winblows on shit it has no business running on |
Do...you feel better now that you got that out of your system? You ok now? |
You can use a Windows app named Easy UEFI to solve to question. It worked on my deck well. |
BIOS 0119
OS 3.5.7
Windows EFI entry will NOT die. I can reorder the entries, but it doesn't save. I can delete the Windows entry, which causes a BSOD on Windows restart, then restarts again with no problem. Nothing I do works. I didn't know this was a problem and reimaged/dual OS setup my SD SIX TIMES before I realized the problem might not be me. 🥲
Does anyone know how to make windows EFI go to the bottom of the list and f*king STAY THERE, or disable it (remove asterisk)?
