I was wondering what the quality loss in this process would be. I can see in your example that both input and output are jpg files. Is there any way to make the dekeystoning losslessly? (Maybe choosing tiff as output format)

Specifying tiff as an output extension should already work -- I haven't touched this code in quite a while, but the documentation I wrote at the time indicates that lossless formats like tiff should already be supported. To confirm, have you tried it?
