Live Mode always on preventing motion/door bell notifications #42
Comments
My understanding re: this was, you should not have live view mode always on |
Have you found a solution? My feed is filled with constant live view events |
I have not. I gave up on it. I don't understand why Homebridge has a
seamless integration that provides live feed back Home Assistant doesn't.

Yeah :// switching from homebridge to home assistant has not been fun. |
I decided to run them both Homebridge and Home Assitant. Homebridge is
primarily for live stream on Ring.

I decided to sell my ring |
Damn. I really love having a smart doorbell but Jesus Christ it is ASS having ring in Home Assistant. Honestly just considering getting another pi just to have home bridge on it for the ring. |
That’s exactly what I did. Luckily, I had one laying around. I know that there’s a way to run Home Assistant and HomeBridge on the same Pi. I haven’t tried it myself but might be worth looking into!

Did you add your Home Bridge to your home assistant? Also, I was considering doing that but realized that running my cameras already uses a solid amount of resources on the device and running HASS and HB would just kill it. Just bought a Raspberry pi 3B from BestBuy (they doubled their price on Amazon). Such a shame. |
No, I just have two separate bridges on my HomeKit (one to Home Assistant
and one to Homebridge). There was an integration that I have in Homebridge
that didn't work the same when I added Homebridge to Home Assistant so I
decided to keep them seperate.

Hi there,
I was finally able to get this installed but now I'm not getting motion notifications at all. I looked at my ring app history and noticed that it shows that live view is being accessed all the time which is preventing the notifications because it thinks someone is watching. Has anyone else came across this issue?
Thank you,
Kayla
