Upgrading from 0.40x

Despite using a version released a lifetime ago, I've had no critical issues using Slate in production for over 2 years. But it will be time to upgrade soon. So I have a question:

• Are there any schema changes planned for the near future and can I just use the latest version for best experience?

Context: when I first started using Slate, there were breaking releases on monthly bases and the schema changed at least once.
