Need to add

  "extends": [
    ...
    "plugin:@typescript-eslint/recommended-requiring-type-checking"
  ],
  "parserOptions": {
    ...
    "project": [
      "tsconfig.json"
    ]
  }

to .eslintrc.json to enable typed linting. See here.

I have that fix coming in #29 if we can wait
