It looks as if there is currently no support for updates let alone updates with the ability for an upsert (although I guess that would just be passed through via options). If this assertion is correct, is it something that you would be keen to see added to the functionality?
I am happy to add the functionality, but would appreciate a pointer in the direction of the best place to put it. At the moment, it would seem that the obvious places to add this functionality would be ElasticSearch::Transport::IndexProtocol and then ElasticSearch::Api::Index?
But "obvious" is not always "best" :)
