I also see this on my Ubuntu desktop. I get around this by saving as a backup file (two files in folder) but requiring a change of name of saved file.
That is I end up with two files in sync.
Mynotebook.ctd
Mynotebook-bak.ctd
It is easy in a file manager like Krusader to view sizes/dates of files.

Same problem here. Unable to save changes to my CT file in my DropBox.
I tried running CT in administrator mode. Same issue.
I changed the access and read rights to the Dropbox directories and files. No change.
I tried with the portable version of CT. Same thing.
Windows 11 up to date. CT up to date. DB up to date.
