Linux slight hinting breaks 'u' #240

I narrowed down problem with rendering letter u in word router to hinting setting.

Here I used bold version of the font with all ligatures (except ss02) enabled and hinting set to "slight":

Here same font configuration except hinting is disabled:

Of course hinting disabled looks "ok" on main screen but not on all.

I downloaded the font today from system packages - it's 1.101 OTF.

Similar problem is for fi, óocć.

What distro, what terminal — please help us reproduce this!

It was Archlinux and all terminals that I have - Gnome Terminal, Console (kgx), kitty.

The vertical metrics were changed in the latest release of the fonts, which may have adjusted the way hinting is applied. Can you test the 1.2 versions and let us know if you still see the issue?
