enable environment variables in ghostty config #5049
-
Hi to all! In my use case, I use ghostty on two different laptops with different hardware, screens and resolutions. So, on one laptop e.g. a font size of 14 is appropriate while on the other laptop a font size of 12 is really better. I'm coming from kitty and in kitty it is possible to load different config fiels by naming them with an environment variable. In my case, it looks like this in kitty:
In ghostty config I would therefore prefer to write:
Current way for achieving the same functionality in ghostty comparable to kitty, is:
and then remove the appropriate file locally. This is basically ok, but I share my config via github to both laptops and then it is a bit cumbersome to exchange the config between both laptops . |

Probably not going to happen. There is another issue where discuss configurable properties (i.e. window type, OS, user, etc.) That's probably the correct long term approach. Feel free to comment there.
This is the intended method right now. |
