Ghostty requires opengl 3.3 which is like 15 years old, so I dont think you dont have a new enough version anything about gles is some issue with GTK, ghostty tells GTK to not use gles. There might be something else going on here though your build and runtime versions for both adwaita and GTK are vastly different ghostty internally sets some env variables for runtime depending on the compile time version of these libraries. There was a PR recently to change this to attempt to use the runtime version to populate these variables |

I came across this when running on an admittedly ancient Dell Vostro Laptop (Ubuntu 24.04). I seem to remember the integrated graphics only supports earlier versions of OpenGL if that is relevant
