Hi,GCST
In the model, the emissions of Fe include both natural and anthropogenic dust as a fraction of 3.5%. I found the corresponding code, which sets the initial solubility of iron for these sources at 1% and 10%, respectively.

Some studies indicate that changes in iron solubility during transport, influenced by atmospheric aging and uptake of acidic species, have been incorporated into the model.

However, I couldn’t locate the relevant code for this process.
Could you clarify whether the solubility of dust iron in the current model remains constant or changes during transport?
Many thanks.

Thanks for writing @Ever029. This is more of a science question and would be appropriate to ask the Aerosols WG. Tagging co-chairs @beckyalexander @theloniuspunk @wporter.

My understanding is that the solubility of Fe doesn't change during transport. Also the code that Meskhizde describes might not have made it into the standard model. You can contact the authors directly.
