Welcome to the gmailieer wiki!
Please refer to the Readme for general instructions on installation and usage.
Initial synchronization of your messages can take a long time, later synchronizations only pulls the changed messages - and only downloads metadata if the message content already exists. Several factors influence the download speed when you sync your entire account:
- API key limits cause GMail to throttle the connection, you might want to try your own API key.
- Your personal account has limits which will block or severely throttle your connection if you try to duplicate it several times (maximum ca 3 times per month) (e.g. if you have experimented with IMAP and several tries with gmi). (You can wait a day or two and try again).
- The sync is likely to be throttled with large amounts of messages
Here is a table of user-reports of initial synchronization times as a function of messages. Please add your own experience:
Number of messages | Size of mailbox | Full synchronization time | Full GMI sync last few days | Full IMAP sync performed last few days | Own API key | Notes | Source and date |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
160.000 | 12 GB | 2 hours | No | No | No | #40/2018-02-22 |
