To work with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, it is recommended to customize the Virpil CM2 Throttle (VPC MongoosT-50CM2 Throttle)
First, you will need to download and install the VPC Software from here.
Once installed, you may configure the CM2 throttle as follows:
-
Open VPC Joystick Setup (the VPC Configuration Tool)
-
At the top, select the CM2 throttle from the list if it isn't already, and click Load VPC Device if it isn't already loaded.
-
Note: if you cannot load the device, check to see if the software lists the device as
VERSION NOT SUPPORTED
. If you seeVERSION NOT SUPPORTED
, then you need to update the device's firmware before you can continue. Select the CM2 device from the list at the top, clickFirmware
, and clickStart auto firmware update
. ClickOK
to acknowledge the warning that appears. When the update completes, the device will disconnect and reconnect after a few seconds. Then, with thePROFILE
button selected on the left side, select the correct device options (in my case, I selected:-
5-Way Mode Modifier
from the middle dropdown -
Did not select a panel (I don't have one)
-
The
LEFT
device side -
Kept unchecked
No twist grip (locked twist)
-
-
Next, I clicked
CREATE NEW PROFILE
. The device disconnected and reconnected, then I selected it again from the list at the top. After clicking on theAXIS
button on the left, I clickedCALIBRATE AXES
. To perform calibration, move each throttle slowly to its extreme forward and backward position. Repeat the process with theFLAPS
lever. Next, slowly move the analog joystick that would be near the tip of your index finger (if gripped with your left hand) to the extreme four corners of its range, then let go of the joystick. Then do the same with the analog sliding switch near the tip of your third (ring) finger (if gripped with your left hand). Returning the sliding switch to the center/neutral position when done. Repeat the process, then clickSave calibration to profile
. The device will save and re-connnect after a few seconds.
