list all articles by category instead of by supplier

it would be useful to have an additional option in the "articles" menu which would provide a list of all articles sorted by category.
sometimes suppliers have obscure names and I find it cumbersome to go through all suppliers when looking for a specific article

Thanks for your idea, sorry I took so long to respond. This is something that's on the roadmap - foodcoop-adam's fork currently has an ordering interface divided by category instead of supplier, and I plan to integrate that into Foodsoft here at some point (ideally with the option to browse either by category or by supplier).

Well, the Foodsoft API has been merged (PR #573), this means foodsoft-shop now runs with the latest development version. There is currently no easy way to check a box in the configuration and enable it, that's a bit stuck on how to approach this (PR #581). But if you publish foodsoft-shop somewhere, set the client id and endpoint, you should be able to use it (though without the plugin Foodsoft doesn't link to the app by default).
