Hopefully fine with burn tools. It works on xStation though :)

Here's another fix for the CD / Hardware version.

  • Dummy to be cool on the drive
  • properly licensed (to JPN, won't be a problem if you use a modchip)
  • Proper PS1 structure (the official download link couldn't possbly work with CNF not located at lba 23)
  • Proper system identifier / area file

Can the Alcahest fix work on a PAL PSOne if i patch the .bin with PSX-PS2 Disc Patcher, Patch-It or SetRegion to Europe?

I can run this image on my PAL PS2 50003, but I'm getting weird horizontal flicker. Looks very similar to what this guy reported (and ironically, he runs it on MISTER): https://www.reddit.com/r/MiSTerFPGA/comments/uo4ll4/psx_core_does_the_opening_menu_of_the_psx_port_of/

What I did was:

  • Hack the console with FHDB and mechapwn 3.0
  • Patch your image using DiscPatcher3 to Europe, since it's required to do that for every PS1 burned disc on a softmodded PS2
  • Run the disc with PS1VModeNeg to get correct NTSC output (also tried to just run in PAL, problem is still there)

I only tried composite output, maybe this is causing the problem, but any real NTSC PS1 game I've run this way works just fine. I'll post an update when my RGB cable arrives
