This problem is visible in many stories for https://kanji.koohii.com/study/kanji/452, which is "cloud" but uses the primitive "rising cloud". Even when people have explicitly used asterisks to italicize "rising clouds" as a primitive, the autohighlighting still boldfaces the text that matches the keyword, yielding

Text for rising clouds and clouds.

Possible solutions: Don't apply auto-highlighting within any text that already has markup applied. Or, if there is any explicit markup in a user's story, don't apply auto-highlighting to that story at all.
