I just saw that standard-version is deprecated.

They advise to use release-please. We use this in another of our projects, so I should still be able to make a proposition for managing the releases.

The process is a little different as the Github Action creates a PR, and we merge the PR when we want to release. For the rest I think its mainly the same.

If it's ok for you that we use release-please, I can start working on it.

Sorry that I didn't see that earlier, the deprecation text was greyed out and I ignored it.
