I am currently working on the 2.8.0 release, but it very much looks like this will be the last release for me.
The reason why I am here is that my former employer decided to include this very broken and malfunctioning lib into a product we were selling. And obviously that required me to fix many things.
I have ceased working for that company October 2022 and I am not seeing that I will invest too much into this hopeless project in the future.
The number of bugs is amazing and the quality of the code cannot be much lower. It would be a full time job cleaning this mess for an acceptable version 3.0.0.
The library is lacking of type correctness all over the place (cf. #28#115 ) and many features are not fully developed and are only working partially (cf. #57#75#90#111#113 ).
This is - to the best of my knowledge - the most recent fork with the most crucial bug fixes available in the NPM registry. Therefore, there might be other interested people who want to continue the maintenance of this library.
So if you are interested, please speak up.
UPDATE It looks like that I am sticking around for some more versions, because there are still interested people who like to see some more improvements. But still, any help would be more than welcome. Mostly with regards to cleanup, testing, and stabilization.
