Hi, this is just to let you know that apache httpd 2.2.16 supports the FallbackResource directive, so instead of requiring and enabling mod_rewrite, all that is needed is mod_dir, so:

FallbackResource /index.php

We will carefully compare FallbackResource and mod_rewrite for various use cases and setups, and may decide to recommend FallbackResource in the future.

Fortunately, switching does not require any actual code changes in this library, and everybody can try FallbackResource today by just modifying their personal .htaccess.

Let’s leave this issue open until we have decided.
