Option to output Word doc with line numbering

feature request: capacity to add line numbers via officedown so that outputted word doc has line numbers
please explain the value: would be great not to have to do this manually; reviewers of manuscripts need line numbers
describe the situation: i tried adding line numbers to the template file but it does not affect the officedown output
be reasonable: please, if reasonably possible?

Thank you so much for contending with the microsoft word demons so we don't have to and making officedown, it's amazing what you can do with it!

Have you tried getting this to work by modifying the template (i.e., reference_docx)?

1. Open the template
2. Layout > Line Numbers
3. Save the document
4. Render your document

This works for me

After you render the document you need to go

Layout > Line Numbers > Continuous

From what I can see, the document will not render with the line numbers automatically, but the format is saved within the document. I would suspect this is a pandoc related limitation.

EDIT: Just looking at the end of your Youtube video, it seems although you are able to specify line numbering options in the template document, you are still not able to get officedown to output a Word doc with line numbers already visible...you still have to manually apply them? So this is still a valid feature request?
