Help updating vaultwarden server after "an error has occured"

Background:
My IT person who installed vaultwarden self-hosted instance has left my small business. My instance has been running fine but now my updated mobile IOS app gives me an error, which is likely that it’s not compatible with current installed vaultwarden. It’s been installed for about 3yrs and I have not updated.

I am embarrassed because I first contacted the bitwarden community without realizing they don't support vaultwarden but were kind enough to point me here.

Clearly my self-hosted server is running as I can navigate to my server over https and login. It is running in a docker container on my server, but when i go to /srv/vaultwarden/ here is what I see:

I don't see a "data" directory. according to

I'm not a docker expert but I know basic things. I run portainer and I can bash into the container. But would appreciate help on how to explore what is installed for future issues.

Please advise how I might proceed to find the data that needs to be backup before I update.

OK after more exploration I realize that the directory shown is the mounted /data directory.

Next question: according to https://github.com/dani-garcia/vaultwarden/wiki/Backing-up-your-vault
I will need to run sqlite backup. I see the provided sqlite3 command to start a backup, but when testing to verify I have things in order I test running 'sqlite3' from the command line in both host /srv/vaultwarden/ (no joy) and then after shelling into the continers but this command is not recognized. What am I missing?

Update:
I've got my files updated per the wiki page.
I performed the step for a docker compose update and it appears (by login in to my server's webpage) that it's running.
but my IOS app still says there's an Error???
According to my portainer and docker inspect, the "created" date is 2022-09-01, and start time is same time that I completed the install. How do I know that I have installed the latest?

So you are definitely not running the latest version of Vaultwarden (which is 1.32.7), and that's why the current mobile apps cannot talk to it.

Is the key to fixing this, editing the docker-compose.yml file and adding "vaultwarden/latest" to the image line?

and then rerunning the docker compose pull again?

Looks like a docker (compose) issue.

upon further searching I found that apparently docker-compose is older conventions and I need to use the following and it was successful:

After killing and restarting my iphone app I was able to use bitwarden app.

After vaultwarden container has been shutdown, edit docker-compose.yml file and change
image: vaultwarden/server TO image: vaultwarden/server:latest

use the following reference, here to shutdown and update, however for the docker-compose case use the following commands instead:

docker compose down
docker compose up -d
