Copying RPMs off an ISO and creating a repo:
mount -o loop /path/to/iso /mnt
cp -a /mnt/Packages /opt/repos/somename
cd /opt/repos/somename
createrepo -d .
Downloading yum repos is harder than it should be.
1. Put this in a file:
"
[updates6.5]
name=CentOS-$releasever - Updates
#mirrorlist=http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=6.5&arch=$basearch&repo=updates
baseurl=http://vault.centos.org/6.5/updates/x86_64/
#baseurl=http://mirror.centos.org/centos/$releasever/updates/$basearch/
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-6
enabled=1
"
2. If you are downloading updates for the latest and greatest
version, in the file you just create, comment out baseurl=
and uncomment mirrorlist=.
3. Change the contents to the version you want (replace the 6.7
in the command below to the version youi want):
sed -i -e 's/6\.5/6.7/' <your filename>
reposync -m --norepopath -c <your filename> --repoid=updates6.7
createrepo -d .
