ParameterType annotation seems not to be available in cucumber-java8

I am using Kotlin with the cucumber-java8 (6.9.0) dependency.
Regarding the page "https://cucumber.io/docs/cucumber/cucumber-expressions/", it seems the annotation ParameterType (used in the "color" example) isn't available there.
I had to use the DSL and change it to something like:

class TestRules : En {
    init {
         ParameterType("color", "red|blue|yellow") { color -> ... }
    }
}

This approach in Kotlin isn't very clear (from the documentation) and wasn't working for me, should the documentation contain even the java8 approach?
