Does the compiler run on WebAssembly? Is such feature planned?

Not at the moment but there are plans.

Currently working on a rewrite of the compiler to focus on wasm. This has also let me simpify the compiler front end a lot. I am in a very very early stage of this but things are looking good. You can find everything on this wasm branch.
