Wholly cow... Wow... I will take a look. This would be a dream come true. There is so little support for the Voyager out there and it is such a great synth capable of so many great sounds. |

Good news... The adaptation seems to mostly work. Preset names is close but is not quite right somehow. I think someone at Moog was goofy.. Looks like characters are not 1:1 with bytes. for some reason they left bit D7=0 always, but used 8 bits for each character by overlapping to the next byte. Surprisingly, most words come out readable in the library but some characters at the end of each line come out odd. Ex. In the moog sysex doc, page 5, byte 101 is the preset name1 first 6 bits and bit 7 is in byte 102. (see pic1)

Oh, and would you have a few pairs of patchnames so I can see what exactly is going wrong? Like "name displayed on synth" vs "name in knobkraft". If I can have a look I might be able to figure out the problem, sometimes it is the character set. |

In general any name you see in the library that has funny (special) characters is not what is on the synth. There are a few exceptions. If the names were imported, even if the characters are strange, then go to the synth correctly. (Your decoding and encoding do the same thing. :) ). Here are a few examples between KnobKraft and my Voyager. Giggle JuicåTR => Line1: "Giggle Juice" Line2: "TR " on the synth I cant visually narrow down the character decoded, but things seem to always get strange at ends of line1 and/or line2. These are in the database I attached. Each line can have 12 characters. I assume Moog adds trailing spaces to each line (I dont know they use a 'space' char for sure) I also realized, I can edit the voyager name in Knobkraft, but can NOT edit all 24 characters. The edit box cuts me off <24 characters. |

Ah, i think I know what is going on. Because of the two line display, the Moog puts in an additional high bit in the last character of a line to mark the newline character. As I ignore that bit, each lines' last character is screwed up. That's a bit of a challenge to preserve in the UI. We could misuse the layer mechanism and pretend the synth has two layers, and split the extracted name into two edit boxes, similar to what the Prophet Rev2 does. I'll try a fix. |

That looks perfect! The DB upload somehow didn't work, but if transfer and renaminig works, there is not much for me to add. Let me know if you need more on this after a bit of usage, bank management might introduce more challenges. Bulk rename won't work yet for layered names (I misused the feature for layered synths lto allow for the two Line display and renaming), I have a ticket open to fix that. I'll make sure the Voyager is marked as works and will be part of the next build! |

Has anyone out there created an adaption for the Moog Voyager? I have tried a couple of wonky solutions, but nothing really works well for me. The old app Moog commissioned from Soundtower does a reasonable job of generating presets but is a horrible librarian. I would love to use this tool to store all of my presets for the Voyager.
