currently, it's not possible, to adjust the periods of time.
how sexy would it be to set it to 1d, 1M, 3y or similiar? so you need some kind of snapping to the period, you set.. month, day, year, hour, minute... also smaller periods make sense, while investigating through millions of records :-)
unfortunately, you cannot recognize, which period of time you're exactly seeing...so this has to be highlighted properly (e.g. highlight time points in the time axis)
that would be an immense advantage! ;-)
