A note about Bonsai and audio-playback in the ultrasonic range (e.g. mouse vocalizations). It seems that Bonsai does not support sampling frequencies above 192 kHz, which allow playback up to around 90 kHz. The computer audio connection supported is Sounddirect (or some gaming audio connections). Bonsai does not support Asio or Wasapi. Most audio interfaces for the ultrasonic range are limited to asio, wasapi (and possible to Sounddirect). This means that the audiointerface is more critical than the loudspeaker/microphone itsself. For me this works with the RME fireface UC (sampling frequency max. 192kHz), but not with the more recent one RME ADI-2-Pro (sampling frequency max. 384kHz).
I assume that similar limitations apply for recording sounds in the ultrasonic range. This is what I found in a previous discusseion (https://groups.google.com/g/bonsai-users/c/n9olY3-I4IA).
