Supporting MAP queries from geographic coordinates in vault

I tend to frequently take notes of places I've visited and would like to be able to render maps based on geographic data in my vault using dataview. Any thoughts on supporting a MAP query that may work somewhat similarly to the CALENDAR query? For example, with coordinates in a note like this:

latitude: 47.5603385
longitude: 7.5830391
---
# Za Zaa
#places/restaurants/lebanese #europe/switzerland/basel

It'd be awesome to be able to execute a query like the following:

MAP coordinate(file.frontmatter.latitude, file.frontmatter.longitude)
FROM #places/restaurants AND #europe/switzerland/basel

And be able to render a map in Obsidian such as the one in this fiddle (along with all other matching results rendered as placemarkers in the map):

I do admit though that I'm not sure if anyone else would want this feature, so I brought it upon myself to give an attempt at adding support for it in my fork with intention to use Mapbox GL JS, but I'm currently stuck after getting a bit lost in the codebase.

LMK what you think, I'd appreciate any thoughts on this!
