popup question

is it possible when you have it in standalone applet mode (not systray) to get the same popup that you have when it IS in systray?
reason: when in systray the panel icon/temperature is too small and clunky, but the popup is nice and easy to read. when in applet mode the panel icon/temps are nice but in the popup the temperatures are too small and hard to read (and i dont need that graph thing)
