Last year was an incredible year for AsyncAPI, marked by numerous achievements, including the successful AsyncAPI Conference on Tour. A key factor in its success was the invaluable contribution of the conference website, which played an incredible role in bringing everything together seamlessly. This success wouldn’t have been possible without your unwavering support, whether through bug fixes, enhancements, or submitting issues. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to making the conference website a cornerstone of the 2025 conference’s success!
We are sooooo back again this year for the 2025 edition of the AsyncAPI conference and we need to prepare the website to cater for the needs of the 2025 edition. Below i've highlighted a couple of changes and improvements needed for the conference website.
Proposed Updates for the 2025 AsyncAPI Conference Website:
Branch Management
Create a new branch for the 2025 edition, probably named next.
Include post-event surveys directly on the site to gather attendee feedback.
Regional Interest Form
Add a section on the homepage with a form for organizations or individuals interested in hosting an AsyncAPI conference in their region.
Agenda Enhancements
Make the agenda downloadable as a PDF.
Introduce an interactive agenda with filtering options by track, speaker, or topic.
Speaker Profiles
Personalize speaker bios with detailed information and links to their social media profiles.
Design for 2025 Speaker Cards
Gallery Section
Create a gallery section to showcase conference images. (This requires further discussion on storage options for the images, such as looking at cloudinary)
UI Consistency
Introduce Storybook for maintaining UI consistency. (This could potentially be a GSoC project this year!)
Accessibility and Multilingual Support
Add multilingual options for the website and sessions to make the conference accessible to a global audience.
Performance Improvements
Implement lazy loading for images and other non-critical assets.
Add Progressive Web App (PWA) features for offline access and enhanced performance.
We’d love to hear your ideas! Feel free to share your thoughts or suggest additional features. Together, we can build a top-tier experience for the AsyncAPI community!❤️🚀🍻
