INSTALLATION MANUAL

The purpose of this document is to explain how to deploy
this project to Jetty or Tomcat servlet container with PostgreSQL database.

MINIMAL SETUP
-------------
This section describes how to get the web application up
and running with minimal steps.
1. Download and set up Java JRE 6, verify with "java -version" at command line.
2. Download and set up Jetty(6,7,8 tested) or Tomcat(7 tested).
3. Download and set up PostrgeSQL(8.4,9.1 tested)
and set up user: "postgresql"; password "postgresql"; database "postgresql";
4. Deploy Library.war file to application server.
4.1 Copy Library.war to Tomcat/webapps and run tomcat.
4.2 Copy Library.war to Jetty/webapps and run jetty.
5. http://localhost:8080/Library/
SETUP BY BUILDING THE PROJECT
-----------------------------
This section describes how to build the project from source and
get it up and running with Tomcat or Jetty. You can choose to build with maven or gradle. I like gradle :)
1. Download and set up Java JDK 6
2. Download and set up Jetty(6,7,8 tested) or Tomcat(7 tested).
3. Download and set up PostrgeSQL(8.4,9.1 tested)
and set up user: "postgresql"; password "postgresql"; database "postgresql";
4. Download and set up Google Chrome(14 tested), used for selenium integration tests.
5. Build with Maven
5.1 Download and set up Maven (2.2.1,3.0.1 tested)
5.2 Run from command line with "mvn jetty:run" or "mvn jetty:run-war"
5.3 Build from command line with "mvn install"
5.4 Locate war file from Library\target folder.
6. Build with Gradle
6.1 Download and set up Gradle (1.0M3 tested)
6.2 Run from command line with "gradle jettyRun" or "gradle jettyRunWar"
6.3 Build from command line with "gradle war"
6.4 Locate war file from Library\build\libs folder.
7. Deploy Library.war file to application server.
7.1 Copy Library.war to Tomcat\webapps folder and run tomcat.
7.2 Copy Library.war to Jetty\webapps folder and run jetty.
8. http://localhost:8080/Library/
9. Running unit and selenium integration tests
9.1 mvn surefire:test
9.2 gradle test
10. Building eclipse project and classpath files.
10.1 mvn eclipse:eclipse
10.2 gradle eclipse
