Ideas for improvement of the gotemplate engine for use with ApplicationSet

Hello all,
I've two ideas to improve the gotemplate engine

1. provide include function for using template in template

It would be great to have the include function from helm also in applicationSet.

2. Place for maintaining reusable Templates for use in ApplicationSet Templates

A good place to provide reusable templates could be a ConfigMap. I had a short talk in Slack with @crenshaw-dev.
An example for this kinds of templates could be a custom template to calculate the revision for the app-generation. This template could evaluate a config file provided by git-source and calculate the revision for the generated applications. I would like to create a set of templates which is reusable for all applicationSet. It would be ugly to copy/paste the templates in all ApplicationSets

What do you think about my ideas?
