The duplicate tab functionality is great, but it would be better still if there can be a visual feedback when closing the tab.
It will be awesome if the newest tab can show a button or something that gives the user an option to choose between "close other duplicate tab(s)", "close this tab (and take me to the old tab)", and "do nothing". In case if the duplication is not in relation to current tab the user is on (when middle clicking a link on Linux for example, opens a background tab) then a popup might be more appropriate. If we are to switch tabs in that scenario, it would disrupt the user's "flow", assuming there was a reason the user decided to open the tab as background tab.
Without a visual feedback, it can be confusing, especially if the current automatic action can result in switching windows.

When the tab switching takes place, due to duplication, I wonder it would be better to un-suspend the tab the user is switched to.
I know there is "Automatically unsuspend tab when it is viewed"; what I am proposing is to un-suspend despite having that turned off, in this specific scenario.
