anybody having any luck with an AMD RX580 card on Debian? With alvr_server_linux_portable v18.2.3 on an up-to-date Debian Bullseye, I rarely ever get a connection btw. server and client (sometimes the client just crashes after connecting, sometimes the whole server PC completely freezes), and if I do, I experience loads of graphics artifacts and quite some lagging. I also tried to upgrade the whole mesa/xorg stack to the versions currently available in testing/unstable (22.2.0~rc3-1), but that didn't change much.
I start wondering if RX580 is suitable for ALVR on Linux at all -- according to https://www.phoronix.com/news/AMD-VCE-Better-Speed, there has been some improvement in video encoding for Polaris cards, but either these changes haven't made it yet to the mesa version available in Debian testing/unstable, or Linux support for Polaris generally still lacks some required features readily available under Windows (where ALVR works just fine with my card).
So... anyone else struggling with the same hardware/software combination?
