I get this Error
This environment's XHR implementation cannot support binary transfer
Apparently @improbable-eng/grpc-web does select the most appropriate one
With this the example works in node:

import { NodeHttpTransport } from '@improbable-eng/grpc-web-node-http-transport'
getGrpcWebTransport: NodeHttpTransport()
