meal cost

For the sake of understanding pricing and profitability, it would be really useful to know how much making a meal costs.

Approach 1

For a specific meal, I can use my grocery shopping receipt to add up the prices of the ingredients, prorated for the amount of each ingredient I'm using.

(or maybe use yumm or something to look up the prices)

Approach 2

I can count (using YNAB) how much money I spend at grocery stored in a month and how many meals I cooked in order to get an average cost per meal.
