Comments
Heads up @WordPress/docs-issues-coordinators, we have a new issue open. Time to use 'em labels. |
Category Base: The category base is a prefix added to category archive URLs. By default, WordPress uses /category/ before category slugs (e.g., example.com/category/news). It helps differentiate category pages from other parts of your website. You can customize this under Settings → Permalinks in the Optional settings section. Tag Base: The tag base works similarly but applies to tag archive pages. By default, WordPress uses /tag/ before tag slugs (e.g., example.com/tag/technology). Customizing this setting allows you to use a different prefix, such as /topics/.

2. Almost Pretty Links: These are user-friendly URLs but require an extra identifier (like an index.php in the URL) when the server doesn’t support mod_rewrite.
