Disclaimer: from what I have seen, in Light Theme it works similar to Dark Theme, with all the same problems except the first problem, where it "becomes super dark" when opening the annotation sidebar.
After opening the annotation side-bar, everything becomes super dark. Closing it does not fix the issue, remains like so until refreshing or changing pages. Image below:
The small beauty icons for the "annotation" and "highlight" do not appear at first, only after you have opened the annotation sidebar and everything has gone super dark. Image below:
There are no visual cues where the annotations are, you only see annotations in the annotation-side bar; nothing in text. (Working as intended?)
The yellow highlight disappears when changing pages or refreshing, although the highlight count remains in the sidebar.
Highlight count and Annotation count in the sidebar are for the page and not the entire book. (Working as intended?)
Clear all highlights and clear all annotations only clear them for that page, not for the entire book. (Working as intended?)
There is a request to test the undo functionality, but I do not see any undo button and ctrl+z does nothing.
Importing/exporting works fine, but as mentioned - there are issues with the visual cue of the highlight.. nothing appears after refreshing/changing pages.
Feature request
Once you finish your annotation, instead of having to click on "Save" maybe have a keyboard shortcut like "Ctrl+Enter" to save it.
Include a keyboard shortcut to close the side panel (Esc perhaps?).
When hovering over the icons in the local annotator sidebar, could we have some name for them? So far there is nothing and it is not clear what they are supposed to do.
When you click to annotate and you're taken to the sidebar, have the cursor already in the textbox so the person can start writing without having to click on the text box.
Some keyboard shortcut to open the annotation sidebar?
Unexpected: Nice that you can highlight or annotate Python code before launching thebe. And after launching and refreshing, it still remains. Well, the count at least--since there are no visual cues whatsoever of highlight or annotation in-text. The image below summarizes many of the problems:
the super dark theme that appears after opening the annotation sidebar,
the lack of visual cues in-text of where my highlights or annotations are.
