dcmedit is a DICOM editor for Windows, Linux and macOS.

## Troubleshooting

If an error is displayed about missing MSVCP140.dll when launching dcmedit, it means that
Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable isn't installed. Download and install the latest version
here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170.

## Private tags

Information about how to use private tags and dictionaries can be found here:

The basic steps are:
1. Create or find a text file that lists the private tags in the following format:
(gggg,"private creator name",eeee)	VR	TagName	VM	Private
2. Set the environment variable DCMDICTPATH to the path of the file.
